the story i was told was that there was an agreement between the three candidates that they would always mention on their literature to give second and third preferences to the other running mates. she leafletted very near the end without doing so, so the ahern mafia had leaflets done up asking to give brady the second preferences, with no mention of fitzpatrick, as retaliation.

I know a few people from the Ahern organisation who I have discussed the issue with and they have never said that to me. Dya mind me asking where you heard it from?

He apparently has a lot of interest in his campaign across Europe and it attempting to keep in it for as long as he can to maximise publicity. Hence him having his own polls/tallys to talk up his chances.

According to Newstalk, a spokesperson for Ganley thinks human error could have caused up to 10,000 votes for Ganley to have been "misplaced".
