You're confusing me now. Are you talking about the Locals or the By-election?

Maureen O''Sullivan won on both.

There's only one seat in the bye-election, which has been taken.

For the North inner city in the locals, the are six seats, three of which have been taken -Ind/SF/Labour. FF aren't polling well at all there.

Here Wobbler, i love statistics and everything, especially when it comes to politics. But...once politics is involved, do you not think it's all a bit pointless at the end of it all?

People just seem to glorify political statistics but it doesn't really mean anything, unless we actually have some really sound politicians.

eh...sorry for the rant.

p.s, this is meant as a general question rather than at Wobbs :)

I wouldn't have considered that post especially loaded with statistics. Just trying to get my head sround Magicbasterder's post (which he subsequently clarified)

We ended up with 1 FG, 1 FF, 1 Socialist and 2 Labour out here in Mulhuddartland. None of the three "new irish" candidates (1 FF, 1 FG, 1 Independent) were elected.

my constituency in louth county council ended 3 FG 1 FF 1 SF - a loss of 1 for FF and a gain of 1 for FG

on career-wise, the jobs of the 5 are 2 "public representative", 1 teacher and 2 farmers

including among the FG was the guy who made national news a few years ago by saying "Eunuch Powell was right"

yuck

Aye, not seeing anything for Clane yet.

2 long standing FF town councillors in Leixlip town council are out. A new FG and new Independent in instead of 'em.

This is one of our local indies. I still have no idea what he actually means by this picture.. I thought it was supposed to mean barriers among people etc but then the actual picture shows him pointing at parking barriers..

Haha, this guy managed to get in on the last count. Stole the seat from the sitting Fianna Fail councilor.

This lad

is running for Limerick City Council and based on that wierdness is getting some class of a vote from me.

Sadly this guy didn't make it.

Tsk tsk Wobbler, they are both Troskyists. I believe the SP favour a dictatorship of the proletariat whilst the SWP favour a proletarian dictatorship.

SP have a bit of a hierarchy going on in their ranks alright....all of their central committe is at least over 50. Old bastids.

So the vote here worked out at: 2 FG, 1 FF, 1 LAB, 2 IND, and 1 South Kerry Independent Alliance (all the other independents here are FF in sheeps clothing)

Off the top of my head I think FF have lost two seats but need to check.

A large number of the 100+ independents are FF/Former FF. So there's likely going to be an increase in the number of FF councillors in a few weeks.

TV3 just gave "unofficial" results of first count for Dublin MEP elections. None of the candidates reached the quote on the first count, DeRossa and Mitchell are both on approximately 95,000 after the first count.

No official results 'tli 9pm when polls close elsewhere around Europe.

De Rossa....he's a bit off a mad bastard so he is. All those old Workers Party types are a good laugh.

Incidentally, did any Workers Party candidates get elected? AFAIK they were campaigning in Dublin and Cork amongst other places....
