What gig did you go to last night? (14 Viewers)

Is he playing through a tiny solid state head, into a Boss katana?

No.
Two amps.
Boss katana
And
That trace Elliot head that feeds that Fender cab

Nine Inch Nails in the Point.

First time seeing them. It was class.
Same here. Been a loooooong time waiting to see them, which is frustrating given that apparently they played Marley Park before? I must have been out of the country at the time. They hit every mark for me last night, aside from finishing up too early - I definitely had room for an encore.

I’m in France soon and thinking of travelling to Paris to see them. Standing tickets available, I was sitting last night and the crowd looked savage.

I had very high expectations and it was still one of the best gigs I've ever seen. Not having any previews of the set up or set list was great. Walking on to see a big box with hard techno playing full rip was real ominous. Visuals were amazing.

Id be all over that Paris gig because YOLO. Trent Reznor will be 70 in 10 years.

Kim Deal

Touring with a 10 piece band. She dabbled in pretty much every era of Kim deal stuff, some of the new record was great live. lots of trimming the band for certain songs (no aloho was done as a straight up 4 piece).

I've not seen her outside the pixies before but am a fanboy.

The ten piece really drew out the detail in her writing. There's someone on here who noted before the random synth noise in some demo, that turns up 'randomly' in exactly the same spot on the album version - the gig was a montage of those moments, and you'd see kim beaming that the band were hitting all those little bits.

Everyone i was with were at 9 inch nialls of the nine hostages the night before and they walked out of this really happy with it too.

Was also at Nine Inch Nails. They were class. Went with an old college mate who had a spare ticket.
I actually wish I’d been sitting for it just so I could watch the show more.
Saw them in Marley park when they played in 2007. It was the middle of the day and they were still class. Supported Foo Fighters and completely blew them off the stage

Nice review, I was at this too, had a ball. Was great to hear some of the songs from the 7"s - Beautiful Moon was a highlight. And getting to hear Off You live... 🥹

Argh, life got in the way and had to miss this, was really looking forward to it. That's me old mucker Rob in the Albini shirt on guitar.
he brought some of his own character into the playing but literally had everything note for note from every record the whole way through, every little sqeak and slur on the fretboard. fair play to him.

Navan Pride afterparty on Saturday, say my friend Carmo do his first electronic music gig. Really good stuff, him leaning over loads of gear pressing buttons while vocalising and playing guitar plus doing things with his feet. He calls it Dark Marx. Followed by IF. Briliant as ever.
Last night was Ani Difranco in the NCH. Disappointing turn out for such a big room but the gig was excellent. I've seen Ani many many times now and this was up there with the best of them. So good.

Wilco in Valencia. It seems that when they come to Spain, not that many touring bands play outside of Madrid and Barcelona, so I used this as an excuse for a weekend in Valencia. Biggish, temporary outdoor venue ...... think Iveagh gardens type setup ........ down beside the beach. Jesus And Mary Chain were there the night before and the night before that .. some kind of giant rave.

Probably the first time I've been at a gig where they were handing out paper fans on the way in instead of earplugs. Doors didn't open until 9PM (there was a Spanish dude called Luis Prado supporting) but it was still 28 or 29 degrees when we got there ... hot hot hot. Nice setup though and a really good vibe in general.

Wilco were excellent. A total greatest hits set, but not really that different from what they did last time I saw them in Dublin. I wonder whether Impossible Germany has become something of a millstone around their necks now. I love it, and I love seeing Cline doing his thing, but surely they must get tired now of having to roll it out every night.

I used to think that about a few bands. But then I heard someone say (can't remember who), "no we love playing that song (their big hit), people love it and it's why we still have a career."

I think it may have been TMBG talking about Birdhouse.
