I never see anywhere that anything like that is said.

lovely gig. Yorkston is back touring his own stuff for the first time in ages after having done a load of collaborations and covers.

Nice little venue and a small but appreciative audience.

Thursday night I went to a piano recital. Due was playing pieces from the 17th - 20th century. All without sheet music!

Went to The Great Escape festival in Brighton - it's mostly "up and coming" bands. Two acts to note:

Aggrasoppar ... absolutely outstanding gig, big gang of Faroese kids doing funky/rappy stuff, danced my ass off with a huge grin on my face. Their recordings, alas, are nowhere near as good as their live show

Kita Alexander ... Australian pop singer, possibly the most beautiful woman I have ever seen in real life. Holy fucking shit. Hard to focus on the music

I'd say a good half the people at the festival were 45 and up. Spent Sat night in the grey-est moshpit I've ever been in
