General election 2020 (14 Viewers)

I heard Catherine Murphy didn't do too well. I heard that on Newstalk though so...

There was no audience in studio which meant that yates and cooper either shutting up or interrupting was the only tactile feedback available to 7 people who obvs all want to be heard. without that feedback journos actually have to sorta decide for themselves what resonated, which judging by twitter was fuck all other than the awful presentation.

Also lots of people not getting in on the idea that its a coalition debate and grown journos looking for 'winners' when alliances are what will make the country.

Its kinda heartbreaking to see cooper in this role, which seems so far from his excellent book 'who really runs ireland' which was a great teardown on the mechanics of irish money and politics.

My guess two weeks ago was wide coalition ff/fg/other, now I don't think left alliance is out of reach at all especially now that pundits are talking about inevitable things.

Is aw a thing that said he had stepped down with immediate effect. Was that bullshit?
He's not running himself but the party is. I'm just seeing a lot of background low level racist noise at the moment from people who should know better, and stuff like this.

The centrist dad is always at risk of becoming the alt-right dad.

Just having a quick look at the NP candidates. For an anti-immigrant party it seems odd they're running a lad who spent 10 years in Australia.

Yikes, one of their candidates is a primary school teacher.

Edit: BOTH of their candidates in the Limerick constituencies are teachers.

Obvs I've watched an endless amount of coverage at this point but it really is becoming more and more a case that varadkar and martin just look like people who live in a parallel universe trying really hard to pass off as normal. Every time they say something it reveals a little more.

Sure Ireland's number 1 Christian mammy and occasional blood and soil nationalist, Irish Times columnist Breda O'Brien, is a school teacher.
