All true. BUT:
I still care about Earth
Baltar would be better known for being in STDS9 for 10 odd years.
Adama Snr would bate the head off you.

But anyone who doesn't realise all this is missing the point and being fooled by some fairly standard directorial techniques (shaky cameras=intense grittiness, music in a foreign language=intelligent and worldly).
It's just a good show. It looks nice. Good set pieces of drama in a big epic sci fi saga that stands up to repeated viewing, even if only because its so convoluted.

I used to like this song once but after I realised I was just being fooled by songwriting techniques, I hated it.
