Worst cinema-going experience of my life was being forced to endure what felt like 4 weeks of Me, myself and Irene.

Next on my list would have to be the Ace Ventura films.

Oh, that's how I felt about going to see Jerry Maguire.

Fucking hell. Ended up sneaking back to the cinema later to see Beavis and Butthead Do America because otherwise I'd never feel clean again.

i'm scared. you're serious.

whilst being intimidated into not winning a local tournament by local thugs, our hero recieves a note that reads 'LOOSE OR ELSE'.

Man i am totally...A nd 'Loose' predated the internet injoke of 'Loosers' by years...

LOL@Zombie 90 best dubbing ever.
I think Germans have the monopoly on those films..

"Maid in Manhattan" Haha. Another of those films that is on my "I'd sooner claw my own eyes out than watch the opening credits" list - so many of the films being mentioned here are on that list.

That reminds me 'Elephant' was a can of piss.

I like Elephant.

Love Actually really is a horrible horrible movie.

Im finding it hard to think of films I really really hate passionately.

Oh, I hate Training Day.

why would anyone set themselves up for the inevitable box office disaster of making a Robin Williams comedy?

I came across this reminder of Robin Williams Being Funny while looking for something to post in the Marcel Marceau thread:

Shakes the Clown also belongs in the 'most awesome movies ever' thread.

Palindromes was very bad. And I beleived the arty farty reviews on the DVD box and kept waiting and waiting for it to get good and it didn't.

Best Alcoholic clown film of our times.

It can also be mentioned in 'Actual Funny Adam Sandler movies thread' too.

Definitely. I think the fact that it pretty much stands alone in the Alcoholic Party Clown genre attests to its infallibility as a groundbreaking piece of cinema. Almost universally panned, too. In fact, I think I'll base the value of film critics' opinions entirely on what they think/thought of Shakes the Clown.

It can also be mentioned in 'Actual Funny Adam Sandler movies thread' too.

But the only other things that could go in there are small bits of Billy Madison (like the penguin hallucination) and a couple of minutes of Happy Gilmore.

Is there anything else? Oh, and wasn't he in a funny movie where he was a metalhead?

Punch drunk love / reign over me. Both deadly films, both deadly performances.

(i should point out i'm just listing good sandler movies - i hate his comedy acting. Makes me come out in a rash).

I have a couple of films I use like that as a tester on peoples opinions. Don't like your taste is meaningless to me :)

Btw I kinda like Happy Gilmore (before the plot happens) but its not the sorta
thing I mention on an interwerb board.
