Paul Heaton played in town last night. Not a big fan particularly, although I liked the House Martins and he seems like a good guy. But nothing much happens here so it'd have been good to have gone out in the world for a change. He has Rianne Downey (who is awfy bonny) playing with him. He discovered her singing in a video from her bedroom on YouTube during lock down and asked her to join the band. Nice.

Last week I was invited somewhere for a show. Don't know what it was, but if I had gotten there before 21:00 it'd be free in.
But I was absolutely fuckered from work .

A separate gig, same time was happening elsewhere. Missed that as well. Singer pushed it hard on the socials, but I couldn't make it.

I felt bad about letting people down or what have you.

Singer from second gig rocked up in the house today. Sorry I missed your gig mate, how was it?
"Well, the guitarist couldn't make it, he was ill, so someone filled in. Then the next day his wife phoned to tell me he died."
So that was shit. Surprising, and shit, and shit.
