Thoughts ahead of the game tonight? I think there's a good chance that we'll see Crouch up front with Kuyt. Crouch has started on the bench for the last four games and if Rafa is staying true to his rotation system, then he's got to be given his chance soon. Plus Bellamy is still struggling up front. It's going to be a very physical game and Crouch should be able to hold the ball up well for Kuyt to feed off. Having said that, Crouch tends to foul a lot. Keeping Bellamy as a late injection of pace at the end could be handy if we need to steal a goal. Hopefully Hyypia starts and plays well because we'll need a steady nerve at the back.

Yeah you're right there. I don't like Ref's throwing the cards around either but in fairness they were cynical fouls. Who knows, the man advantage might have made the difference in the end. Poor result for us though, and the first half was well below par. Another booking for old man Hyypia too, he can't handle the pace at all these days.

Too many of the long shot specialists (Gerrard, Riise and Alonso) are getting way too shot happy when a shorter ball to one the forwards would open the play more. Not a happy Saturday.

i hate to say it but Lily was doing what he does best today...he popped everywhere, at right back and left wing even, pressurised the pool centre halves constantly and boned all round him. agree with Janer though in that he should have walked though.

pool didnt deserve the win today. gave the ball away too easily. very worrying with a trip to Castle Greyskull next sunday next in the league programme.

was it not a case of do enough to not lose the other night? steady at the back and sneak a goal? we've seen these games in the champs league before. and we've seen them without gerrard in the games against lesser opposition before as well. gerrard is now fit for sunday.
