MMMM Pancakes

Been eating loads of Semla (traditional Easter Swedish Cake) which is eaten instead my beloved Pancakes. They is mighty tasty though, theyv'e got an almond paste centre and sweet creamdrool.

but

Going to make some Pancakes using Madouva's recipe. With tears in my eyes.

HEY I ACTUALLY HAD ONE OF THEM/THOSE SEMLA CAKES IN COLLEGE IN HELSINKI TODAY BUT HERE THEYRE TRADITIONAL FINNISH EASTER CAKES......FIGHT, ON THE FERRY

DID YA GET THE TRADITIONAL PEA SOUP ASWELL, TO STOP THE PANNIES MAKIN YA FEEL STOTCHY I DO BHFOLACH, BITS A HAM AND ALL SORTS OF MING IN IT, STILL IT WAS FREE, IF YA SLEDGED, ONE GUY WENT DOWN THE HILL WITH A COUCH IN TWO SKI'S CLASSIC. MUCH BETTER THAN ASH WEDNESDAY

wow, i totally missed this thread last year. fin, you've got it down. that's exactly how i make 'em too... without the fancy fillings mind, but the batter, the knob of butter every 4 or 5... man, pancakes are the bomb.

i completely forgot it was pancake tuesday, so no pancakes for me.

i did, however, make a cucumber salad that involved doing much violence to the cucumbers with a teatowel.

I was taken for Chilli con carne pancakes on Tuesday

I only realised today that I was taken there BECAUSE it was pancake tuesday

so...

i completely forgot it was pancake tuesday, so no pancakes for me.

if you had the flour lying in your cupboard for a while you should check it for flour mites

smooth some flour out on the counter in a thin layer. Come back after 30 min or so and check for tracks thru the flour. If you see tracks you've mites in the flour so chuck it!

A health inspector told me this one.
