Because guess what my toilet seat replacement does.

Race against time.

Can probably be fixed with an adjustment. The part where the seat meets the toilet boil is probably too close to the cistern.

We kept it old school. There's no slow closing mechanism, accidental or otherwise.

I've fixed (attached) a few toilet seats in my time. This one is probably a dud.

But i'm inspired and energised to give it another go. Right now.
