Ireland vs some Sultan or other, Stalin (1 Viewer)

As someone who was particularly annoyed by this aspect of our play, I think that's completely untrue. There was absolutely no question of a fullback going beyond the wide midfielder at any time. For example, how often did our attacking plan become Aidan McGeady alone, trying to make space for a cross? All the time.
When Marc Wilson and Coleman came into the team in the last campaign, there was a bit more license, or else that was just a result of lost motivation to stick by the system.
Sorry, I should have qualified that - it was the formation for the last campaign only, when we got notably worse!

Team lineups are out..

Ireland: Forde, Coleman, Wilson, O'Shea, Ward, Whelan, Quinn, McCarthy, McGeady, Walters, Keane

Georgia: Lorla, Lobjanidze, Kverkvella, Kashia, Khubutia, Kankava, Daushvili, Glashvili, Anaidze, Okriashvili, Xvirkvelia

I think we are looking at 4-5-1:
Code:
                Forde
Coleman Wilson O'Shea Ward
Walters Whelan Quinn McCarthy McGeady
                Keane
or else 4-4-1-1:
Code:
                Forde
Coleman Wilson O'Shea Ward
Quinn Whelan McCarthy McGeady
                Keane
                Walters

No Hoolahan, Ward gets the go-ahead, only one proper winger and Long doesn't start.. that's a lot of ammunition for the critics if they don't get the win..
