Independent TD Finian McGrath has confirmed that the continued use of Shannon Airport by the US military will be a 'major issue' for him in any negotiations for his support for a new Government. Deputy McGrath, along with Independent TD Tony Gregory, was a signatory of a pledge, before the election, not to support any Government, which allowed the US military to use Shannon.
