I remember a patronising article in Melody Maker when 'Because we want to' by Billie was out where they said if you ignore the verse the chorus is a pure expression of teenage feelings and was the most rebellious song released in years. Those adults don't understand how us teenagers feel etc.
Needless to say the guy who wrote it was in his 20's and I was about 15 and fuming at him.
