Does anyone remember the 'official' talk they had with their parents in relation to the old sex education? I remember my mother thrust a book called 'Girls Talk' into my hand and told me to read the first few chapters regarding periods and what those burgeoing molehills on my chest were and to leave the last few chapters until I was a bit older. Of course I went straight to the last few chapters and found they related to the big s-e-x.

It helped to clear up a few of the inaccuracies I had, such as frigging is not when the man balances the woman in the air by sticking his penis in her belly button.

We had a talk with a nurse when we were in 6th class which involved looking at some stick insect figures making love.

Godd times

I'm still waiting for my "talk".

My sister and women of her age were given a booklet called "My dear Daughter" which I'm told left lasting scars

Oh man, I got such a sensitive and thorough breakdown of the whole filthy business. two hours, the ma and da working in tandem and switching in primary speakers according to areas of expertise.

my mam explained everything to me when i was fairly young so i was fairly desensitised to it by the time my mates got a grasp. very cringy shit when my ma told me though. the best was when i was getting sex ed of the nuns and i claimed that i had never seen a flute before. i had the whole class in stitches when i the 2 nuns bought my story and held me back for a chat after class. i had 2 60/70 year old nuns (who would know what a cock was if it slapped them on the cheek) talking to me for fifteen minutes after class about what i had in my pants. i miss school

i also had a book handed to me when i was about 13, i think that was a bit late really although there was a few things in it i didnt know. no information of that kind was given in school as far as i recall apart from when one lad asked our science teacher what a blow job was (answer - not very hygenic and not recommended)

I saw a programme on BBC 3 recently called Sex with Mum and Dad (I think) which involved some sex education specialist helping teenagers and parents to be more open about sex with one another. She sat two teenage girls with their parents at the kitchen table and made all of them put condoms on cucumbers. One of the teenage girls was in tears, the other was quite balse about the whole thing and both the fathers were frozen in terror watching their daughters do it.

I had a book given to me and then an uncomfortable conversation with my mum about the book.
A couple of years later my dad took me on a long car journey and asked me if there was anything else i needed to know. It was awful.

apart from when one lad asked our science teacher what a blow job was (answer - not very hygenic and not recommended)

I believed for quite a while that the old blow job involved furiously blowing air around the penis. Genuinely.

I never recieved sex education by parents or primary/secondary school. My earliest encounter of a vagina was in the bushes during what must have been the end of a 'lets climb that tree' session and a game of nervous ensued which was followed by I'll show you mine if you show me yours sort of thing. If I was to guess I would say this was around 1995.

Would I have benefited by recieving a book about female arousal versus male arousal and other such things? Definitely not. Would some other poor girls I fingered for the first few times? Definitely. We've all heard the just get your finger in and go in and out as fast as you can technique which was perhaps followed by smell my fingers 'boyaz'. The recieving end of a dodgey wank under a pair of unopened XWORX jeans wasn't nice either.

Thats my 2 eurits on it anyway.

A book was left in my room. It was very boring and English. All the boy characters, when talking about sex, said shit like "Wizard!" and "Pip pip, jolly!". Anyway, it was useless.

6 months later I was asked "Did you......did you....read....that....book?"
"yes"
"ohthankgod"
