the excitement of dining in such close proximity to one of the great learning centres of europe...where middle-class semi-literates fail their arts and science degrees before taking that job in dad's company...you can almost feel history happening as you delicately nibble your insalata caprese.

It's generally full of pussy too, in fairness.

mommy....!

Had the slow cooked pork belly with savoy cabbage in L'Gueuleton last weekend. 10/10.

Went to that Italian place in the meeting house square too. Fairly average especially considering the price.

A few of my favourite Chinese restaurants on Parnell Street have
closed down in the last few weeks.
Recession or health inspectors? I haven't a clue.
Charming Noodles has been around for a while so I thought I'd
try it out.
I had the braised beef noodles and my suitably charming guest
ordered the fried tofu starter.
The portions were huge, the noodles are made fresh in the
kitchen and tasted really good.
The chilli oil they have on each table is excellent but I think may
have dried shrimp as an ingredient. I'm not totally sure - so
any veggies who eat there should ask just in case.
The tofu was crispy, not oily, soft and almost sweet. It came with
a soya sauce and scallion dip.
€8 for the noodles and €4.50 for the tofu.
Definitely going again!

Charming Noodles is great. The best taste/price ratio in town. I nearly always go for the big bowls of soup noodles - especially the ones with seafood and shitake mushrooms. Dinner for two the other night including drinks for under 30 euro.

I thought I was helping my fellow foodies by posting about Charming Noodles.
Now, it seems, I may have signed Jillface's and Bladez' death warrant, not to mention my own.
Fuck you, fate.

La Dolce Vita, Trimmers Lane, Wexford.

Went there yesterday.
Starter - antipasto selection. Fairly deadly salamis, parma ham and a well dressed lettuce/peppers/artichoke selection. Mmmm.

Main - Italian sausage with lentils. Divine and pungent. Lovely sauce on the sausage.

Probably the greatest Italian restaurant I have ever eaten in.
