Not having a go, it's just weird because you've just randomly posted pics of your mates. No offence but they're not even great portraits, they're just snaps taken with a decent camera. And if a mate of mine started a thread on some message board and stuck up a pic like that, i'd give him a hiding too, it's one thing taking a pic of a mate for yourself, but putting it up in a public place with their name on it is just... Weird.

The title of the thread is "portraits of others". Who cares what I put up in a (facetious) sentence after it? Who cares if you don't think they're good or not? (I don't particularly like any of them either - but it's a way of getting more people onto thumped and one of them was put up to give the administrator a bit of a laugh). There's a crap self-portrait thread with very few decent self-portraits up, just people hiding half their faces (with some good notable exceptions) that has gone the way of other threads.

All of the people were told they'd be going on the internet, just not where and when. Yet. Did they care? No. In fact they were all in favour of it. EspeciallyConor, who said, "Send the link to me wife." Random photos is full of people who have no idea they're on the web. It's also a way of people getting copies of the pictures of themselves if they so wish.

What's your idea of a good portrait anyway? A well-lit studio one?

Stop worrying about what my mates would do to me (they're grand; they're my mates; I know how they'd react).

There's pics of me all over the web. You don't hear me bleating about it.

So, come on, dude. Get your waivers and stick some portraits up. That's wehat the Photography sub-forum is supposed to be about.
