Ok, so my girlfriend's folks got NTL broadband into their house. The guy came, installed it, did something to the computer, then left. NOW everytime they log on to the main user's account (which would have admin access), if the broadband is plugged in to the pc, everything locks up and stalls, a "Shell Hardware Detection Error" warning keeps coming up, Windows Defender can't be turned on along with any other Anti-Virus software...

Actually there's so many problems I don't really know where to start. Log in under another user's account, or start it up without the broadband plugged in and everything works grand.

I'm stumped!!!!!!!

Anyone experience anything similar????

Any help would be appreciated

My girlfriend's mum rang windows support and they remote accessed her computer and fixed it. Not entirely sure what the problem was in the end though. Thanks for all your help though!

You should always put an empty folder marked 'Tranny porn' on your desktop before letting IT remote access your machine..
