I've XP Pro and I want to get IIS going so I can do some asp coding. Seems I need the XP Pro CD to do so, but I don't seem to have it (my machine came with all the software installed, but no discs)

Any suggestions? I tried Apache::ASP but it's no good as the language is VBscript

It asks you for the XP CD when you try to install from Add/Remove Windows components? Have you tried pointing it at the i386 (I think) dir?

Tried that, no joy

Also, I installed Apache2 and now can't fecking uninstall it - it's not appearing on the Add/remove programs page. Any suggestions for that? Won't allow me to just delete the directory cos it's in use

if your computer didnt come with disks it might have the installation disk saved on a hidden partition of your harddrive.
right click my computer, click manage, click disk managment to see if there is a hidden partition on your harddisk.
think some computers come with preinstalled software to burn the XP disk.

Uhhhhhhhhh fuck. I just checked my i386 folder, and it's got the IIS6.cab in it (it's less than 3MB) I can send it over and you can try pointing the installer at it. As for Apache...try stopping/disabling the service and restarting in safe mode...there's gotta be an uninstaller in there. If you just kill the folder it'll leave a load of junk in yr registry.
