Whats the latest on this? Any use?

My birthday is coming up and I'm thinking of getting a new guitar.. possibly a mustang but I'm seeing some short scale paranormals that look pretty nice!

Eg this one..

Fender SQ Paran. Super-Sonic SHP

The only thing putting me off really is the humbuckers..

looks cool, but I'd say it could be an uncomfortable guitar to use

I'm still dicking around with it, set up wise but it seems cool. Neck is very nice. I'm working on the action etc but I've been busy so haven't really had the change to sort it properly. One big red flag is the input jack. It doesn't have a satisfying "click" and a straight lead will actually fall out when you're playing sitting down. Possible sorted by using a right angled lead or opening it up and tightening something.

It has a telecaster twang and like to remind you it IS a Tele.

I tell ya what, I've been trying to record some high up chords on my tele last few hours and its pretty hard..even with the compensated brass saddles.. which sound incredible but are still not 100% intonatable. I know now why Nile Rodgers plays a strat...although Julian Lage managed fine when I saw him play

My 2012 tele has the individual saddles. I was always thinking I should get those 3 X 2 compensated saddles to make it more Tele like. But, I didn't bother. Better intonation as it is.

if a person can't get a strat bridge to intonate they might as well give up (or their guitar is built areseways).
