HELP THE DOGS!!!!!!!! (1 Viewer)

Ever see that supernanny programme? Some oul one sorts out a child in 45 mins? Not that easy in real life. I imagine it's the same for dogs

Of course, but the point he always makes is that the problem is with the humans. I think there was one episode that had a messed up rescue dog, but in the main its the people. People who don't know how to handle their dogs and don't understand how dogs think.

You can see that dog's mickey in the middle.

They're talking about this on questions and answers now. I find myself in a "IDONTCAREWHATYOU'RESAYINGITHINKYOU'REALLFULLOFSHIT" mood.

Odd.

here, did you see the one where he goes away after he got them calmed down and stop barking and stuff, to see how the owners would do by themselves when he wasn't around... and they had them put down.

Oh man. I mean, I have to say, I just broke my shite laughing. She was a complete tool. And he was not a happy camper.

Quality telly.

Ah yeah, the people are always more interesting than the dogs. Most of them are well meaning but, well, thick.

Me got a letter in the Times!!! I thought our love afair was over as they haven't printed anything for nearly a year.

Maybe it's because I didn't swear this time.

(by the way I am not Kurt Tidmore, who wrote a much more eloquent letter than what i did)

A Chara, - I am aghast at Dublin City Council's decision to ban so-called dangerous dog breeds from its properties. As the owner of a Staffordshire cross, and with several friends who own Staffordshires, I can say with my hand on my heart that Staffordshire Bull Terriers are the most loyal and friendly dogs one could possible hope to have.
Can council members not get it into their heads that it is irresponsible owners and not the breed that makes a dog dangerous? How can they possibly justify penalising thousands of responsible, law-abiding dog owners for the actions of a few irresponsible ones?
This rash and ridiculous decision is an outrage and will result in many well-behaved and loving dogs being unnecessarily put down. - Is mise,

Oh, Is mise!

I'm in the Ra I am :)

Are you serious??? That's no laughing matter. It's not like she painted over a mural he did. It's an animal's life for Christ's sake.

The having the dogs put down wasn't funny, it was the complete wrongness of the whole thing, everyone coming back to check in on her progress, the encouraging words, the flash backs to the training, soft focus, the whole deal... they walk in, and shes had topped the lot of them.
And everyone is just going what the fuck? looking around, she's just there "yuuup".
Oh.

The dogs were yappy and jumpy, there was no way they should have been killed, and she was standing there and the whole thing was kind of amazing reality this mad woman lived in.
I dunno. Doesn't sound so funny maybe.

I received a rather condescending reply from Charlie Ardagh:

" I would expect that the ideas behind this story coming out of the City Council must also be based on solid data and facts and can't be because of just that they don't like these dogs!"

Thanks for that, Charles.

Clare Daly's reply:

Thanks very much for your email, which was forwarded to me by the Socialist Party office, regarding Dublin City Council’s unbelievable decision in relation to banning dogs from their housing schemes. I was bowled over when I read of this, it has to be one of the most disgraceful decisions every taken. It is completely unenforceable and would severely impact upon thousands of dog-owners for no beneficial reason. I am the owner of an eight year old Elkhound, there is no way I would let anyone touch him or take him from us, and it would be no different if I had another dog. As you say a dog’s behaviour is down to their owner. I have sent them an email on the issue, but I think that residents in the City should have a big dog protest to bring things to a head and force a U-turn. Thanks for raising the issue.

All the best,
Clare Daly

Am I the only one who thinks all dogs should be banned? Living with a dirty stinking wild animal you convince yourself holds some sort of "emotion" towards you other then a urge to get feed is disturbing enough, but when said beast starts attacking children?

It's sad they're going to kill them all, but y'know, it's 2007
