my sister was telling me last night - her sister in law and SIL's husband (let's call the husband B) used to live in the states but moved back here because of health insurance; and his health issues. B has a significant autoimmune issue, and at one point when they were still in the states, his consultant (who he got on really well with) showed him a letter the consultant had received from B's health insurer. it was along the lines of
'We would like to remind you that the total cost of treatment of B's condition has reached $750k, and he has a ceiling of $1m under his policy. Please bear this in mind when deciding on any future treatment'

apparently a $1m ceiling is very common, even with the pricy plans?

Oh they are total pricks. I read about it for all of twenty minutes when i lived there and decided i wouldn't be staying. You get sick, sell your house and hope you survive long enough to work out your last few years.

Anywhoo I came here because in 1987 Steve Guttenberg starred in 'police academy: citizens on patrol' where normal losers were drafted into the police to make up numbers

Yesterday Steve guttenberg was a citizen making traffic control appeals as a volunteer fire service because they are sort on numbers and his community is on fire.
