good books? (1 Viewer)

Actually only messing:

A River out of Eden - Richard Dawkins - great book, another one to explain why creationists and social darwinists are full of shite.

Anthropology and Modern Man - Franz Boas. Published in the 1920's I reckon this book was way ahead of it's time. Shatters delusion reagrding race, class, crime and the ability to preidict human behaviour in a purely empirical way - stresses the importance of diversity and the fact that we are incredibly complex.

Marx and Durkheim's stuff on religion. Marx's stuff is as usual, great. Durkheim's is a bit too lenient.

Read Ishmael by Daniel Quinn again - still a good book, My Ishmael and The Story of B are also interesting reads and compliment each other well. But Beyond Civilisation is cack.

Also recently read Padd Clarke Hahaha - actually a lot better than I though. Funny and warm and has the line "Your Ma's Gee!"

I am currently reading:

Interesting physical discoveries of 1926 by Charles Boredan
A psychological study of boredom by Fritz Gripedant
and Under the scalp : A detailed analysis of brain-wave patterns in dogs by Fagot

currently reading Bnp and Converge thread non-stop.
