it was truly amazing. Van Nistelrooy was so freakin dangerous and it had a lot to do with the dutch delivery. but he's a quality player and was unlucky not to score any real goals.

Oh I know, but I still think considering he was knocked to the ground off the pitch meant that he should've been considered out of play. The ref should have seen that. If that had been the goal keeper the goal wouldn't have counted. I think what's more probable is that the linesman and ref missed the knock Panucci got and might well have missed him being off the pitch altogether. That rule is more applicable to a defender who is standing in play stepping out of play to render the opposition man offside. I think considering the specific circumstances that goal should have been disallowed. I hate to quote Brady, but it's a matter of common sense.
