is there any real difference between the two of these, other than price? is it worth paying the extra for the us model??

I'm not really sure what the exact differences would be, but the best thing to do is trust your ears. If you can't hear any difference - get the cheaper one.

probably too late, but the russian is better made, but sound slighty more bassy as far as I remember. The Pi seems a bit flimsy 2 b honest.
