Another cover I like which is a bit melodramatic 'n cheesy is Rebekah Del Rio's acapella cover of Roy Orbison's 'Crying', that features in the film Mulholland Drive. I think if I'd heard it outside of the film I'd think it was a substandard drag rendition, but it's in a really powerful scene and her voice is amazing.
