I've always thought the same. Stink bombs are cheap, legal and absolutely rank.

The only time I've seen them used was on that documentary about the Sea Shepherd tackling those illegal Japanese whalers. In that case, an incredibly stupid idea, trying to make things smelly for guys that live on a boat and slaughter whales all day.

But in any other situation, I am amazed it's not used more, by either the protesters or the authorities.
