I think the xbox is just guaranteed to scrape disks no matter what. My tony hawk disk is fucked and that box never gets moved.

we had a problem with our gow disc a few months back, thought it was the console, disc turned out to be scratched and a whole chunk of the game couldnt be played.
we were told by this fuck head in game that nothing could be done and that we'd have to buy a new game.
smyths toy shop do a disc resurfacing service, costs a fiver but yer man did it for free. game works perfectly now.
