I just got a new laptop for personal use yesterday, one which is wi-fi enabled. I don't have any interent connection in Zeeland, but will have in the gaff I'm moving into soon. In the meantime, is going online just as simple as hanging out in wi-fi interent cafés and other places with complimentary wi-fi? And will I be limited in the amount of junk I can download using a public wireless connection? Anything very obvious that I need to know in order not to be caught in public looking bewildered?

it usually works by asking for a card which has 3 or 4 passwords. each password gives you 30 minutes on the network. free of course.

its really only intended for browsing rather than downloading though.

Zee, your neighbours may have wireless which you can scab off them so try looking for a connection. If they don't have a password for it you're sorted.
