Whiskey / Whisky appreciation thread (1 Viewer)

Nah it wasn't me. I've been off for a few days moving house.

I've never tried the mead, it's only ever bought by trenchcoat wearing dungeons and dragons types. I have tried some good Scottish ones. Let me know what the Bunratty is like.

Post xmas whisky haul isn't too bad:
- Dailuaine 16yo: Rich but not overpowering. Lots going on and a really long finish. Fruity and a little bit smokey.

One of my favourite recent drams. I just finished the last drop of my bottle at Christmas. Put Mortlach 16 Year Old on your to do list if you like the Dailuaine.

I wish people would get my whiskeys for Xmas. Is it because they don't know me well enough? I did get a €50 Topaz voucher...it was a difficult decision...which Topaz to spend it in.

topaz sell gift vouchers?

Yes. I see it as just one level above a €50 note as a present in terms of effort. The thought process must be something like.."I can't give him cash, it's too impersonal. I know, i'll give him a gift voucher which he can spend on fuel instead! He likes fuel".
