Where's good for buying whiskey in Dublin? As in good selection at a reasonable price? I bought a bottle of Green Spot for the father-in-law last year in the Celtic Whiskey Store on Dawson St., but (not really knowing anything about these things) I have no idea if I paid way over the odds or not (I want to get him another bottle this year, but I'll have a bit longer to shop around).

that shop is one of the only places you can get it. the palace on fleet street serves it too.
the lord ed has a decent enough selection of irish whiskey available.

the celtic whiskey store is not cheap, btw; you're better off going to an offie for readily available stuff.

I'm gonna become a professional whisky drinker. Had some Jameson 18 years at xmas, delish. Nabbed a bottle of 15 years old Glenfiddich from home but not sold on it. I have discovered that Powers is not for me, i get a very salty initial taste off it. Saw a bottle of Middleton 'Very Rare' for €150, i'd say that's tasty shit.

I have a hip flask, I got it in that place near Fox's Cigars. It has been instrumental to satisfying my festival tipple needs for a few years now.

It went with me to my folks' after Christmas filled with Redbreast 15 which my Dad enjoyed very much.

Seems like everyone got good xmas gifts. One Aunt got me an Adidas shower gel and deodorant gift box. The other got me and my brother a DVD called Babel. I live in Cork, my brother in Los Angeles.

it was either jameson or tullamore dew had a pack with a bottle of whiskey and a hip flask for marginally more than a bottle on its own, just before christmas. you may be able to pick one of these up somewhere.
