What movie did you watch last night? (51 Viewers)

shock corridor- i only rented this because i remembered nate 'film guru' champion mentioning samuel fuller at some stage. i'm glad i did. great movie. a reporter checks himself into a mental hospital to try and solve a murder case. he gradually starts to loose his own sanity. great acting and a real build up of tension. a nice surprise.

commando was on tv afterwards. 'flawless'. first time i realized that the freaky looking bad guy from the warriors was in it.

For Your Consideration - a bit of a let down this, but enjoyable all the same
Smokin' Aces - Good, bloody fun.
American Hardcore - definitely a bit "I Love The 80's" but v. interesting all the same.

Blades of Glory

Good, but no Anchorman. Fred Willard should have been the commentator a la Best in Show.

Casino Royale - pretty enjoyable bank holiday afternoon fun. Was a bit misleading to say there's "no gadgets" in it, considering the contents of his aston martin's glove compartment.

I feel good.

Buddy Buddy with Walter Matthau and Jack Lemmon

never has the use of the word "fuck" been so funny

A bit of Sony product placement anyone?

"-Rolex?

-It's an Omega."

You fucking whore, Craig!
Watched it on Sunday morning.

Not bad really apart from the ad breaks & Danieal Craig's pout.

James Bond is in love?

Oh, that'll work out.............

So on Sunday night there was this this incredulously bad film called 'Envy' on tv3. I was too lazy to switch it off, and in the end had to see it through. Did Barry Levinson dream this?

Then 'Union City', which was better than expected. Cool cinematography. And Sam McMurray as the milk thief. Love that cheeseball. This film really exists in it's own noir vacuum.

Then 'Diner' just happened to be on late on Network two, and hey! I found myself really getting into it. Also directed by Barry Levinson. Can't believe he actually made a good film once. Haven't seen it since I was a kid.

'L'enfant', the Dardennes' one. Uncomfortable, compelling stuff.
