The Wexford People said:A WEXFORD County Councillor has called for dogs with 'big uglylooking heads' to be properly controlled by their owners.
Cllr. Jimmy Fleming asked the Council officials on Monday if certain dogs have to be muzzled and kept on a lead under bye-laws. He was particularly concerned about 'the ones with the big ugly-looking heads on them'.
'If they're not on a lead can the Dog Warden take them?' he asked. Cllr. Fleming was referring to breeds, we assume, such as Staffordshires and Rottweilers, though beauty, as they say, is in the eye of the beholder.
Cllr. Fleming said that uncontrolled dogs were a problem right around the county.
