Enlighten me please, WHY is it that TICKETMASTER can be allowed be the MOST EXPENSIVE ticket distributor , compared to the rest in europe and afar,

With Denis Desmond's BASTARD MCD charging tight fisted taxes
eg. I want to go to gig, i see it priced 24 euros , i also see cobwebs in my pocket but i insist in buying a ticket, the cocksucker of satan behind the desk of ticketmaster opp me says its 27.95 ........Now i kno I sound scabby but this is just the tip of the iceberg.

I heard of another ticket distributor called TICKETLORD (sounds like a pornworkshop base i kno i kno) well the geezer who runs that or did , well it was handed to him by his uncle or other , Well Ticketlord certainly dont know how to compete or do good gigs....

At least theres AKIN but thats still not enough competition , those on thumped who work for MCD explain yourselves:mad: im off

everyone's in it for the money these days, get with it!

ticketmaster have a massive hold on ticket sales along with mcd they control or own all the really top venues.

ticketmaster dont organise any gigs, but take a cut of upto 30% on gigs.
they load the ticket price also so you are paying more than the the charges they are telling you about. it is hard for ticketlord or tickets.ie to compete as ticketmaster is a massive mulitnational, who is well established.

misinformation in irish rock rules, doesnt it?

MCD/Denis Desmond owns or has exclusive use of the Ambassador, Olympia and Gaeity. He also owns a large chunk of Spirit.

Aikens dont own Vicar St - its owned by Harry Crosbie and managed by Aikens. Indie promoters can book it.

Clear Channel/Live Nation own/operate the Point - any promoter can rent it out but it costs an arm and two legs

The Village and Whelan's are owned by Frank Gleeson - again, any promoter can book either place

The RDS is owned by the, well, RDS. Anyone can book it but like the Point, its expensive. Even SF book it for their annual hooley - though its kinda funny to see that lot in the Royal Dublin Society hall

I'm fairly sure that Guinness still own their Storehouse.
