This looks great - 0 Latency (1 Viewer)

It's a smart solution.
Don't fancy having to give up 1 or 2 audio outs to drive it though.

what kinda situations have you encountered problems in?

im running a fairly heavily midi influenced set up but havent had any major problems..just curious to see.

......with outbord kboards........ the delay is so annoying ..... you can give a minus delay in Logic but its always there and unpredictable.

I usually go Protools -> guitar pedal -> kboard and back in....

oh really? i often go:

LOGIC>MIDISPORT USB>SYNTH 1>SYNTH 2>SYNTH 3>BASSSTATION then cv/gate to 2 more older synths and back in on 6 channels and it all usually clocks very well. although, i tend to record in loops. do you find the sync drifts after a while?

its just well out............

maybe its because my synth is old.

but any remixer i know etc complaines with the same problem...

I mean it doesnt drift, its completely not in time in the 1st place

If you're trying to synch a laptop with a midi device using midi clock it can be hit or miss as to whether they'll start on time which is a f**ker live cos if it starts out of sync you're knackered.
I think the main function of this box is solving that problem.

Midi latency in DAWs is different though. If you're monitoring in realtime on a hardware soundcard that does your midi there should be next to no latency issues with midi synths/hardware.
Monitoring in software is different - depending on how the soundcard latency is set you could have a significant delays.

You can get drift on midi clock alright. Logic 5.5 (last version I used) was terrible for it.

What synth and soundcard do you have now?

Most modern soundcards can get quite low latencies and its
easy enough to set up the latency compensators on most DAWs.

You know a lot of the great dance and electonic artist would sample their hardware synths- you have to make decisions about what to keep live and midi etc Anyway point being sync can be a bit of a white whale.......solutions are already available to you just finish the song

Midi latency is still dictated by your sound card. The whit whale is from Moby Dick.

So come on humour me what sound card and synth please

this yoke looks great

i use a mono machine with an mpc and its fucking all over the place with midi latency.. it's late as fuck..

it's so weird cause sometimes i use a casio cz1000 and it's bang on.. the mono machine and even the machine drum is fucking out of time..

i think thats why elektron make that turbo midi yoke.. but you need to usb that which is a pain if you just use the mpc to clock shit..

so yeah al, this thing looks banging.. just the sort of thing to use if you were recording an old eighties band.. like, let's say duran duran :p
