Brendan Fraser.

I understand that he went through some awful shit, and is supposed to be rather good in The Whale and that's brilliant but the lighthouse are having a season of his 90's stuff at the moment.

I remember seeing most of those films on video at the time and there's not one of them I'd be in a rush to revisit.

Maybe he just never got a chance to develop / improve his skills or start acting in good films? 🤷

He made an awful lot of dreck back in the day.. I recent discovered this absolutely bizarre looking Brendan Fraser thing from the mid 90s:

Thanks to the Blank Check podcast's Henry Sellick series for introducing me to that..

Yeah, it's a bit of a joke.

Personally I'm keen for a Jay Mohr comeback.

My friend, who has an inexhaustible knowledge on every also-ran and nearly-made-it in the comedy/ stand-up/movie [intersection of these three particularly] world, says it was Mohr's horrendously bad impersonations as a stand up that killed his career.

Anyone else watch Action back in the day on TV3 [late 90s]?

Also Darren Aronofsky should not be taken seriously as a film-maker. Come on.

The guy has talent but he has proven himself to be a daft, unserious bastard.

The Fountain was like a 3 hour Guinness ad
With someone beating you over the head with a velour hammer saying "Love is eternal"
Up there with the biggest waste time I've ever had in a cinema

As good a thread as any to post this

I had forgotten all about Katie Puckrick. I only knew her from her work as a TV presenter in the 90s

She seems to be everywhere these days

She is the lead singer of this band who played Dublin recently and by all accounts was amazing (not that you'd think so from this clip). Fair play for a 60-year-old.

She also just cropped up in this old clip I came across
