I got a copy of Dr Sarnos DVD- i can burn you a copy if you like?

The guy who gave it to me said it eased the pain by at least 50%

It sounds a bit...existential but it's supposed to get results

I have a set of stretches that keep it at bay, if i let them
slide it just creeps back. Just being lazy i guess, I have had
it much much worse in the past (inflamed disc and unable to
sit/stand). I went to everyone under the sun. Physio, Chiro,
Acupuncture, Doctor, Tried traction, massage the lot.

Then i just googled it (after 6 months!!) and found
an article promoting the values of a simple juice.

2 carrots/ 2 sticks of celery/ 1 apple to taste. It basically
said bang this all the time! And take fish oils.

That coupled with swimming (front crawl stretches the spine) and very simple stretches (3 in total).

The inflamation went down. Joy of fuckin joys! I could
walk/run/dance/sit/stand and much to my disbelief
touch my toes with my legs straight.

Now i dont know how effective that juice really was, but it became my holy grail, and whether placebo or not something worked. What i have now is a walk in the park compared to what it used to be. I really am just being lazy! I know the tools to combat it and i think thats the battle, When people get full on sciatica for the first time
I think the sense of helplessness exacerbates it.

Its such an invisible pain (if that makes sense?)
sufferers knowing how fucking agonizing it can be.

no, once you get on top of it, you have the tools
to control it. i think it can be quite personal how you find what works for you. but once found its totally manageable.

It is very much so a mind/body realtionship.

My back is fucked at the mo too, someone in work told me I probably have sciatica cos of my symptoms. pain in the arse. metaphorically and literally.
 
Difene from your doctor is a really good stop gap if your in pain.

i dropped one this morning and ahhhh.

If its really pissing you off, neurofen liqui tabs from the chemist
work.

these are only stopgaps.

Difene is a'ight, (I just got a trapped nerve in the foot, so I was put on anti inflammatorys) but Celebrex is the maaaaaaan.
Holy shit. Celebrex is great.
 
Acupuncture is supposed to work good on this. My dad and ex-boss both said it was the only thing that worked.

I have arse pain/leg pain/sciatica as well at the moment. It's a pregnancy thing. Someone suggested kneading my arse cheek with a tennis ball and/or sitting on the ball and rolling around with it although I haven't tried it yet.

a couple of Ibuprofen will bring down swelling, which might take the pressure off whatever is pushing on that nerve Diddles, as well as lessen pain.
Ibuprofen is quite a reasonable and overlooked anti-inflammatory.

not sitting, but standing on the ball with you sore leg,
rolling your foot till it hurts.

havent tried it either. ibuprofen (neurofen) is good, but can
mess with your digestive tract if you take it too long,
talk to your doctor.
How many months are you? I could pm you some
really gentle stretches if you like? I have 3 very simple
stretches that should alleviate the pain.

I can't take any stuff like ibuprofen at this stage as I'm nearly 8 months (ulp!). Would be defo interested in the stretching exercises so if you can pm them that would be deadly :)

It comes and goes, so it's not too bad. Seems to be more when I over exert myself or have been sitting funny.

After reading this thread the other day, I got sciatic pain in bed. How's about that? Power of suggestion! It's so sore and so fucking awkward. It comes and goes for me and it never keeps me out of work or anything, thankfully.

I'm falling apart.
Just want to keep it at bay till the end of the bowling season in mid January.
shot of morphine every Tuesday night would be a dream.
