Villa's scoring record for Spain is better than Torres', as it has consistently been throughout his club career.

I'm not saying that Torres isn't a super player but for me Villa shades it. Both great goalscorers but I'd view Villa as the superior technical footballer compared to Torres who is a superior athlete.

In fairness, he did only make 39 starts, and had 61 sub appearances in all competitions (he actually got 19 goals in all competitions)
However, I thought those appearances on the wing only came towards the end of his time at united, when they figured out he couldn't hack it upfront?

Wouldn't go along with that, the only time he ever got a decent run up front was in his last season when van Nistelrooy was out injured, scored 7 in 7 only to be dropped when an unfit Ruud was back.
