Plus the original cables would make that cat piss smell when you cut them (thus the name). The old timers used to arrive home smelling like cat piss, and their wives would ask them "Awww Honey! Working on those cat cables again?", and the old timer would give the wife a full force head butt to the face. Because he was drunk at that point, and it was the 50s, and that's just how things were back then.I don't do much of that sort of thing these days, but i find that the flat cables are a lot easier to work with and slightly easier to terminate than the regular ones. Although, terminating lots of ethernet cables is one of the worst things in the world, requiring as it does manual dexterity, decent eyesight, and fingertips made of anything other than human skin, so that's not really saying much.
Yeah Cat 7 has shielding around the copper, cuts down on noise. I still just fuckin call them all Ethernet cables cause fuck itAre those shielded ones called Cat 7??
I didn't know that. Shame on me.
I think I called them "cat 6 but the metal clip ones".
Call me a traditionalist but I normally stick with the original spelling Aethernet cables, out of respect to the Greeks, who of course invented the Internet.Yeah Cat 7 has shielding around the copper, cuts down on noise. I still just fuckin call them all Ethernet cables cause fuck it
I think you're getting a bit mixed up. When they invented Web 2.0 they added wifi capabilities, and got rid of cables altogether.are you talking about wifi cables?

Think of wifi as internet batteries, since it's wireless.
As I understood it Tony Blair sorted that issue out when they fixed that whole Y2K bug thing. If you pull it out the wifi stops.
