Try the Arriva Hotel or Swinton Hotel, both on Swinton Street.

Never stayed in the Swinton yet, but was in Arriva a few weeks ago. Cheap and functional, basically all you want is a room yeah?

About a 5 minute walk from Kings Cross train/tube station.

Place not to stay: The Ace hotel/hostel in Kensington. Top rated hostel for london on hostelworld.com but when i ran up to reception in a panic at 3am and asked them to ring an ambulance, they told me to use the payphone. Absolute cunts.

Go in the summer. Tonnes of parks all around the city. And the temperature is usually in the high 20s, low 30s - it's reached the high 30s in the last couple of years.

Doesn't rain that much here. Maybe once a week.
