Kevin Doyle to Wolves for 7.6 million. Good that he's in the top flight but it's a sideways move in terms of the club. Would have liked to have seen him go to the likes of Villa, where I'm sure he would have cut it, but sure I suppose there's plenty of time for that.

Moving up a division can hardly be called a sideways move. If Wolves splash the cash then they've every chance of doing well. Villa don't seem to be signing anyone at all and they'd a shocking second half of the season. Apart from the top 4, Everton are about the only team I'd have really wanted him to go to. But it's good to have Foley, Ward, Keogh and Doyle on the same team, for Ireland's sake.

I think Doyle and Ebank-Blake are very similiar in style. I think they could do with someone tall to nod the ball down to them. Folan, for instance. I'd doubt the budget would stretch that far though.

I thought Delaney looked decent enough when he lined out for Ireland those couple of times (or once or whatever it was). Is he not particularly good?

He was good for half a season, utter crap last year. Now I'm mostly going on what I've read obviously, but he didn't seem the best in the few games I got to last season.

He's OK, but a million for a championship level left back? Yes please.
