Talking to stylish man and and also another person, a scenic artist. She has an eye for style of course.
Stylish man said that sometimes he'll be at his front door and look in the mirror and say NO, my socks don't match my hat. Then go back inside and change his socks. Scenic artist person nodded.

I said to scenic artist person (who I've known for years) "you've never discussed style like that with me. I just wear black. Have you just given up on me?"

Her response was: "I think you've given up on yourself seanc"

Ouch. Big massive ouch.

Huge onslaught of shoe adverts coming my way this week

I was in a pub where there are "cheap" hotels nearby. And often those rooms are filled with various workers who've been sent down to that London to do a thing.

Two lads from Up North somewhere sauntered by, dressed to the nines. You could tell, they'd really made an effort to take full advantage of being stuck in London and they have a rare night off.

I was outside a pub and one of the regulars see's them asking for directions and shouts "oh, here come the undercovers".

I didn't see, but I casted a sideways glance at them. The slightest glance. And y'know, I didn't want to be mean. That said, they really did look like undercovers. I had to walk down the street until I was finished laughing.

They understood the joke and took it in good humour.

They'd have been more than welcome if they had come in btw. They seemed cognisant. It's a lovely pub and that point deserves reiteration.

But as they left, first localman goes "Here, how come one of you is wearing socks and the other one isn't?". I guess that must be a Northern thing.

Got the haircut from the new housemate. Mates rates. I like it. Other people like it. But that's actually getting a haircut rather than just shaving it all off like I usually do twice a year. Managing expectations.

He messed up the sideburns, but managed to keep a bit of facial hair. I've never had a proper beard trim before. I look like some kind of lower league footballer.

Head shaved. Head is cold now.

Housemate is moving soon so I took advantage of his skills while he's here. I don't really feel like I overpaid him, but he was surprised. I didn't have change. Twenty quid for a blade 2 all over, and i don't have to leave me gaff is actually ok imo.
And the ducks will be happy with the nest building materials.

He was quite generous. I said "sorry about all the dandruff".
Oh, no. That's not dandruff, that's just dead skin. It's normal.

"Um, well, yes. How kind of you to say".

I'm a professional, he says.

It was a catastrophic level of dandruff.

This is actually quite well observed. I'm thinking of Zelenskii's dressing down by Vance.

Also thinking of lots of people I've worked with over the years who think uniform rules don't apply to them. They're often quite good at their jobs, but sometimes just spoofers, louder than everyone else. They never last long.

Think the current boots are not so ventilated but suppose I should tone it down.
