Circuit Bending (1 Viewer)

i was more asking you guys how you use things
you've made in your own musics - i can list off
more than enough other people myself

did you make the silver box thing? either way,
sounded deadly

nah i bought it from a guy in the states. i'd say it'd be pretty easy to reverse engineer the basics of it. opened it up and it's just a few transistors and a load of different capacitors on different switches.

Here ootini, you're some browl of a young fella leek. why don't you just start listening to some pure daycint choonz, like dark psytrance?

heres a load of crud made using mostly this:

Hi- Ive bent a few things

Speak and spell -
some vtech thing-
Casio mt 140 mt 240 sk8 sk5 sa1
yamaha pss 140

Its fun - the hard part is learning to solder-

One problem ive found is that yu cant get really fine single core wire over town which is essential-

If you buy a ide cable(hardrive thingy) from maplins you can pull it apart in to single strips which is perfect.
Its really important to use fine wire.

If you get Reed Ghazals book it gives you really straight forward diagrams for Speak and Spell and Sk1 and a few others

Theres loads of info knocking around online -

circuitbenders.co.uk and casiobend are cool

My fav is the speak and spell and casio mt140 they are very userfriendly to bend.
Might put some picks up.....

I also want to do a furby

Not a fan of bending roland tr's the only useful one imo are the pitch mods for 707 - but they require dicking around with 555 osc i think.505 and 606 sound better unbent to me.

Musically bending is a bit of a mixed back - its a great way of coming up with samples you never would have arrived at by traditional methods- however the music made by bending could be said to be more reliant on sampling and sample editing ??????
