best area to live in Dublin? (3 Viewers)

Rialto's grand in general. Around New Ireland Road and towards James hospital is quite well to do, but along the South Circular up to Dolphin's Barn can be a bit mad in spots as it's sandwiched between what was Fatima and Dolphin House. I wouldn't be afraid living around there though, it's not like the Northside. The off licence in the Bird Flanagan is shit, however.

Right beside fatima like. Moving there now!!!

Sandymount
pros
quiet,
near beach,
near DART,
near town,
little village there you can get your stuff in,
near the south wall for walks.
Grand play schools and primary schools around if you have nippers.

cons
dickheads in SUVs
dickheads in cars,
dickheads walking about.
Dickheads.

Apart from the dickheads, Sandymount is a great place to live.

Drumcondra, very pretty area but a pain in the ass during the summer and can take hours to get home when the GAA is on.

Meath street: Great for closeness to town, cheap veg and toilet paper.
Cons: getting car windows smashed 5 times over the year I lived there.

Killmainham: Great, close to parks and town.

Harolds X: Close to town, no worries of Car being trashed.

Inchicore: Great transport, decent enough shops, nice italian.

Drimnagh: Lovely area, big back garden, close to parks, really sound neighbors.
cons: Babs is getting a Drimnagh accent :)

beumont- grand, bits a bit knackery

artane- bit knackery

larkhill- a bit knackery, but in a salt of the earth-close knit community kinda way.

north city center (just off dorset st)- junkie rama. screaming matches at 3 in the morning of the 'thats not my baby waaaa' type, old drunks shuffling arround making half hearted attempts to scab the price of the next pint of ya. mad aul ones.

ballybough- grand, expect for croker in the summer

NCR - like north inner city, except less junkies, more crazy old folk (incl our landlord)

drumcondra (clonlife rd)- one of the posher places ive lived. grand.

Move to the southside man, you're making yourself miserable over there.

Ah yes... But im talking about my stuff.

your car got way more trashed outside my house on meath street.

Yeah true, that New Years day i came back to where i left my car outside your house on Meath St and all the windows bar the front one were smahed in, jesus that was cold journey home! Still nothing like that has ever happened in North Strand!

I should have mentioned:
Drumcondra - drug bust in the flat under mine, I arrived home just as plain clothed gardai were about to break into my flat.

Artane: was grand, very quiet apart from the car alarms, too far from town though. And that was 10 years ago, so maybe it's not so quiet now.

We're all having a ball, down in East Wall
