I'm in the market for a dedicated interweb server. Anyone got any suggestions?

- i'm looking for something in the region of 60gb space
this here site does over 20gb traffic a month, so spot the deliberate mistake a few posts up. There's a few other domains here too.enchance said:Jaysus, are you starting to run porn sites or something?
What are the stats of this board, average bandwidth per month, sql table size?
that's exactly what i meanegg_ said:I get my hosting from http://www.ez-web-hosting.com
Their dedicated servers ain't cheap though
Cheapest I've seen (though I don't think they're managed - by managed I presume you mean that they do stuff like keep the OS and php/mysql up-to-date for you?) is at http://www.serverpronto.com, but I haven't done any sort of an extensive search

i'm not fussy, me.
- i'm looking for dedicated server hosting
- i'm looking for linux, not windows
- i'm looking for something that comes with cPanel or Plesk or similar
- i'm looking for something with a decent amount of bandwidth, 1gb or so(!)
- i'm looking for something in the region of 60gb space
- i'm looking for 512mb ram
- oh and if possible, it has to be a managed service.
- and it has to be as cheap as possible
things have gotten bad and i really, really have to get this shit moved before something nasty happens
There's a couple of gigs all told, but i plan on using a whole lot more now that i have a proper net connection to upload stuff with.Chocohead said:how much physical storage space do you need? not bandwidth, but actual space? I might be able to grab you some space on said clients linux. I have root access (he doesnt) so i could set up a complete reseller off his without anyone knowing - though it'd depend on exactly how much space you need .. probably swing up to a gig or so but not much more.
PM me if your interested, cus then I could get me own back and not reply for weeks
not much to be honest. i think mp3's and image attachments eat it all up. hi andy.THRILLHO said:Just out of curiosity... how much of your bandwidth goes towards the emails that go out when a thread gets updated?

But given the content of some stuff that gets posted here it's probably not such a good idea to hijack someone else's space. Not a good idea at all.
there's no way i'd be able to afford that kind of money. not a chance.Chocohead said:well if you cant get what you need cheaper than 495/m let me know and I'll hook you up with my supplier - thats uncapped bandwidth btw - not too common
