Music From Big Pink by The Band.

Not a huge Band fan by any means. Know their eponymous album pretty well, haven't heard it in years. Big Pink has always been highly regarded. or so is my understanding of the situation anyway. especially after seeing a doc about it, possibly one of those classic albums episodes. picked it up with a bunch of other stuff in the states for a couple of dollary doos last october. in the kind of vg+ condition that it would have cost 15+ over here, so couldn't leave it there. gave it a good clean today, had a few beers, came home and had a spare beer leftover and threw this on. can't say this thing is doing much for me at all at all. i'm thinking wrong time of the day. and if i've learned anything from the TAC it's that the 3 full listens is essential. having said that, almost once and it's boring the shit out of me. of course i'm selling this thread as something that it is not really, as my opinion on this thing is based on one ropey listen. that aside, what other highly regarded albums have fallen short for you lot?

I feel like that about The Last Waltz, always talked about as one of the great albums of that era but it just sounds like a limp cocaine-fuelled snooze to me. I've only kept it so I don't have any major gaps in my Neil Young collection. And even then it's not the best version of "Helpless" I've heard.
