The worst job you ever had / have? (3 Viewers)

i worked as a chambermaid for 4 months in an alpine hotel in bavaria. the setting was stunning and it was one of the best summers i've ever had but the work was really tiring and you learn alot about humans when you see how they live. you also find stains in the most unthought of places. barf. i had to get up early and the work was strenuous lugging around hoovers and whatnot. but i did lose a shedload of weight :)

in the evenings then i was back in the hotel to pull pints and waitress which was heaps more fun plus i got fed for free aswell.

i guess shit jobs are a part of life, most people have had to do some form or another.

The sparkly crown indicates taste and breeding..

I had a waitressing job in a steak and seafood place that was utterly shite. Cap'n Jack's, it was called. Big Jack (who was a little old man with a spud for a nose and an asshole for a personality) used to like shoving beer bottles up the waitresses' skirts (without their consent). Because he used to bake all the desserts, they had to change the skirt colour from navy to tan because tan hid the floury handprints better. Little Jack (who was a very fat man) was angry and liked to talk angrily at you while holding a knife, and was possibly the biggest, most abusive dick (apart from his father, whose treatment of the waitresses appalled even the most prickish customers) I have ever encountered in my life. Worse, he thought was 'connected', and every so often ,you'd get these tables full of guys in tacky suits who could order whatever they liked and I didn't get a tip off them because they didn't like my sassback when they grabbed my ass. They called me a 'feminazi' instead. FUN.

I had an accident in the kitchen and ended up in the A&E. It wasn't anything major, but I had to be out of work for a couple of weeks. When I went back for my work release form, they told me that Jack had no insurance and he could be shut down, but of course, he couldn't fire me over it. WANNA BET? He scared me to the point of no return (see above), chased me out of the gaff, and then told the hospital he'd never heard of me and that I was just a fraudster. They chased me for years until my dad (who, by the way, was Little Jack's parish priest) finally talked to him with the power of Jesus, and he coughed up the coupla thousand to cover my medical costs.

That was one of the worst jobs I ever had. Maybe not *the* worst, possibly tied for worst with my first-ever full-time job. I also worked in a shoe/clothing shop that was pretty awful and the owner was a junkie, which really sucked. He started paying us on commission, which was cool because it meant I made more than 150 bucks a week for a change, and then he stopped our commission because he couldn't stand to see us making money. He also got angry at us for selling better when we were getting commission than when we weren't. Most of the managers were coked up most of the time, and they were all robbing the place blind and running their own little black market goods' rings and shit. When Kimya Dawson played here, one of us started talking about The Worst Job Ever (I can't remember if it was me or her), and it turned out to be the same place. Sheer hell.

Used to be this junkie chick who'd come in just to hang out. She was really nice, if a wee bit clingy, and she was on the game, which was weird. For a while, her 'boss' was very eager to 'hire' me, and there was some persistence. They were like, "It's an escort service, it's perfectly legal! You make 500 bucks a night if you suck cock!" And I was like, "So what about the fact that I'm 16? Is that legal?" And they were like, "Ooh, legal shmeegal, do ya like the cock?"

Where was I? Oh yeah. Shitty jobs. Stayed with the shoe store. Didn't really fancy becoming a hooker, which probably would have made the other shitty jobs pale in comparison.

There were times, when I was a student and working crappy jobs for £3 p/h when I did wonder if prostitution was as bad as the shit I was doing.

One particular job sounds nothing more than mundane but was actually hellish if you did it often enough - folding newspapers for 7 hours a day. The smell of the ink induced nausea; in fact my cousin did the job and ended up puking all over the papers.

Then I worked in an old peoples' home. I thought it would be all twinkly-eyed tales of surviving the Blitz and shagging Yank soldiers, instead it was all 'where's my sherry?' and 'clean right between my toes, will you?'. And of couse the all-pervading smell of wee.

worked in a chipper for a few weeks when i was about 15-16 peeling spuds out the back, nightmare.
Working in a pub when i was about 19 for the summer in college at home, the owner was an ignorant git, didn't give me a Friday or Saturday night off for the whole summer, git. Used to get right in your face on busy nights saying to step up the pace, i worked my hole off for that bollix. but saying that i did have some nice bar jobs, which paid my way through college.

best/worst job was washing dishes in an Irish pub in Pargue for a summer, crap work, but only worked 4 1/2 shifts, lived really well, had a great time. It was mindless work which suited me just right at the time.

I worked as a night security guard in a nursing home. It broke me.

First time I've seen two guys having sex as well.
