What movie did you watch last night? (2 Viewers)

I’ve watched it a couple of times. Good to just not think too much, but also good to try to figure out. I like it.
i couldnt cope with it. At all. Even worse than Inception which I only lasted 10 minutes of

The magnificent seven deadly sins. (1971)
Comedy anthology of seven short stories, one for each of the deadly sins.
It's well made, with an all star cast. But most of stories are tiresome & not all that funny. The best of them is the one starring Harry H Corbett. It has that classic staple of 70's British comedy, a middle aged man lusting after younger women, but not having much luck. Full film on YouTube.

The Being. A not especially gore-y early 80's horror about a mutant creature, created from radioactive waste, tunnels under a small town, kidnapping and killing the populace.
The practice fx and the creature is class, film is a bit of a mess.

Peeping Tom (1960)
A psychologically damaged voyuer obsessed with recording genuine fear uses his camera to film the last terrifying moments of his victim's lives before he murders them. Dark, Hitchcock-esque thriller directed by Michael Powell. I had seen it before, long time ago. Controversial in its day. It's old fashioned now, but still creepy & intense.

Neither the sea nor the sand (1972)
Eerie, supernatural romantic thriller about a young woman who visits a small British island & embarks on a doomed love affair with the local dark handsome stranger.
I hadn't seen this before. It's seems to get lukewarm reviews, but I really liked it. It's slow & moody, with a nice autumnal atmosphere. Lots of cold howling winds & waves crashing against stoney beaches. Good soundtrack as well. Full film up on YouTube

The Nine Queens.

Argentinian film from about 2000 about a couple of con men types who have a big deal fall in their lap. It's amazing, this is the kind of film that would influence the Safdies making Uncut Gems, and the whole thing has a bit of a Usual Suspects about it too, plus it's quite funny in places too. And it has the Argentinian lad that looks like Argie Lee Van Cleef, what a legend. On in the IFI for a few days anyway.

This is great. A few comic book characters get transported out of a dream into 1960s Prague. A blond heroine with the secret of anti-gravity gloves and two villains - a superman type guy and a cowboy villain.
