I think vegetable oil is generally rapeseed oil, made from raped seeds.

I don't think it's usually palm, though -- that's the worst of the lot. In fact, when I was back in the States, I realised that I've lost my ability to eat a lot of the junk food I once loved because it just tastes like hydrogenated palm oil to me now, including things that don't seem to have oil in them.

Vegetable oil can also power a diesel engine . To convert your car it costs about a grand but very much worth it. Cannot drive yet, but when I can it will be behind a veggie-powered engine I'll be.
