Or better still.. wait until people are at home and checking the site out on dialup instead of work broadband connections.

Can't see who started and who posted last in the thread list though
dial up: yesterday one of the top whiners told me "I use ISDN in work and it's slow" or words to that effect, so i thought he might have some observations
This is where people like me find out what's on. I'd prefer gigs on the main board - less likely to miss something I wanna see, more likelihood of the sort of discussion that might encourage me to go to a gig I might enjoyCASINO said:anyway whatevs, people generally know what's on - they'll go if they wants to go
I'd like to point out I said this as a person who doesn't go to 99.99999% of gigs.broken arm said:but who the fuck am I eh!

Is there a way you can do both? As in letting the gig threads go ahead on the general forum, but also having some kind of rule where they're copied automatically onto the seperate gigs board? So that when you enter a comment it appears on both boards. That way you'd get more talk and discussion on each gig, and more people generally passing through would see it, but at the same time if someone just wanted to see at a glance everything that was on in town this week, they could do that as well.egg_ said:This is where people like me find out what's on. Yeah, I've got dialup at home too, and, apart from the mp3s and some of the bored at work links, you don't really notice the difference. Images are no problem- it can deal with all the robokittens just fine.nlgbbbblth said:I use dialup at home all the time and it's ok
that's just silly. if you can't think of anything constuctive to say, maybe you shouldn't post here. One of us said:Is there a way you can do both? Man, I know nothing about computers.
Sorry. I genuinely meant it as a constructive comment. I thought from a user's point of view, it would be handy, although technically, I had no idea if it was easy or difficult or downright impossible. I guess from what you're saying its a stupid idea from a technical point of view. Fair enough. But I wouldn't know if I didn't say it. And I really hate that snarky, superior "maybe you shouldn't post here" tone, wherever it pops up.UnIt SevEn said:that's just silly. if you can't think of anything constuctive to say, maybe you shouldn't post here.

By the way, weren't you the guy on this thread who suggested thumped should ban women and make discussion about Morrissey compulsory? That's not exactly the most constructive thing I've heard all day. Not the funniest either, by a long, long shot, sunshine.
heh, the fact that you think there'll be books is indeed proof of luddite-status, lizzie!Latex lizzie said:We will be but dusty bookends.
i meant it as a joke. what you posted is one of the most 'constructive' things on this board. sorry if the morrissey and banning the girls jokes didn't grab you. i think i have a bad sense of humor or something. One of us said:By the way, weren't you the guy on this thread who suggested thumped should ban women and make discussion about Morrissey compulsory?
